Access Flooring and RIW Toughseal

At Fieldmans Access Floors Ltd., we use RIW Toughseal with our Access Flooring as many modern hi-tech buildings may contain a great deal of sensitive electrical equipment which needs protection. RIW Toughseal is a solvent free polymer which is based on epoxy resins. It’s typically used to provide water and water vapour proof barrier in areas such as under access flooring that require excellent tensile adhesion and chemical resistance; RIW Toughseal has a Class 1 fire rating and is UV resistant.

RIW Toughseal also provides protection against carbon dioxide, fresh/salt water, dilute mineral acids and abrasion, as well as water and water vapour. This is what makes it ideal for use with numerous types of access flooring, from industrial to office use.

How is it used with Access Flooring?

RIW Toughseal may be used as a surface applied damp proof membrane under access flooring. The material relies on the creation of a good bond with a substrate in order for it to resist water pressure, creating a highly durable seal. When used with access flooring, RIW Toughseal will provide a strong defence against water vapours and liquid water for the entire life of the structure.
