Access Flooring used by Transport for London

Fieldmans Access Floors Ltd are very environmentally conscious with regard to their profession of installing and maintaining access flooring. In order to ensure that their work is conducted in an environmentally sustainable manner, they carry out many procedures on site; such as asking the manufacturers to remove temporary cardboard protection to panels at the factory to cut down on waste (and the cardboard is easily recyclable).

They were very pleased to be recruited to install access flooring in the Palestra Building, as it is the first building in London with a renewable and low-carbon energy programme. Fieldmans Access Floors Ltd installed access flooring to nine levels of office space for Transport for London.

The Palestra Building

The Palestra was designed by Will Alsop, and was the only building evaluated that has a Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method rating (BREEAM). The building is unique in respect to the fact it has combined photovoltaic cells and wind turbines on the roof.
