Carpeted Raised Floors
Raised floors have been successfully clad with carpet for over two decades. And they have changed and advanced just as every other component in a raised floor. The first generation of carpeting was not the best for sensitive equipment and caused particulate problems for the users. But the carpet used today is manufactured using a better process, eliminating many of the original problems. Today carpeted raised floors have antistatic properties, and are also more resistant to fraying, unravelling and bending up.
Carpeted panels have the carpet glued directly onto the panel in the factory. They are available with or without edge trim, this is a small plastic strip that borders each panel. This was originally meant to help prevent the carpet from unravelling and fraying at the edges. Today the carpet is made using a robust combination of materials, which eliminates the need for the edge trim.

You can also have a raised floor with carpet panels, this is where there are panels of carpet cut to size and stuck down to the raised floor. This makes it easier to replace, as the carpet panels are not permanently attached and can be removed from the floor.
