Raised Access Flooring
Raised access flooring creates a small space that can house data cables, electrical wiring, air ducts and even water piping. The flooring is built using a metal grid that is affixed to the subfloor. Atop this, panels made of steel, vinyl or a combination of the two are laid down. The surface finish can be nearly anything an office requires--wood paneling, carpeting--and can match any design and decor.

Raised access flooring is the best use of space for all the necessary wiring an office will have. Raised access flooring can be as low as only 65 mm (2 1/2 inches) off the subfloor, depending on a space's overall needs. It further allows for simple maintenance and upgrade work by being able to open up the floor at a precise point. An entire office's wiring can be reconfigured without disruption of the work environment.
Installation of Raised Access Flooring
A real concern for companies considering raised access flooring is what the final product will look like. The answer is, in short, that raised access flooring will look like any floor. It will also feel and sound like a typical floor. That is, it will if the raised access flooring is properly designed and installed.
