Raised Floor Water Resistance
Your raised floor can act as a barrier to water that can potentially damage or even ruin your vital electrical equipment.
A modern high-tech building such as a data centre, call centre or office block can contain a substantial amount of sensitive electrical equipment which needs protection from water intentionally introduced into the building, such as through core areas like toilets and showers.

Automatic sprinkler systems can also introduce water into a building. Their vital role in protecting the building from fire notwithstanding, the water they introduce can cause a great deal of damage to the sub-floor and the rooms below.
Seal your floor
Make sure you incorporate a containment system directly underneath your raised floor, so that no water can escape into the rooms below. Do ensure your containment system is compatible with whatever adhesive has been used to join pedestals to the sub floor. As well as protecting your electrical equipment from water, your containment system can also act as a good quality dust sealer and provide an impact resistant floor finish under a raised access floor.
Fieldmans Access Floors Ltd has two decades of experience installing raised floors in data centres, and they know how to construct raised floors that protect against water. For more information, please call 0208 462 7100 or email Enquiries@Fieldmans.com.
