Siemens - Case Study

The Siemens Wafer Manufacturing Facility was, when built, one of the largest wafer fabrication facilities ever constructed in Europe. The whole project included a support building containing cleanroom areas, a utilities block, and a number of ancillary buildings including a gas farm, a store for chemicals and a 15,000m2 office development.

Fieldmans Access Floors were chosen as we are well versed with the cleanroom protocol and induction procedures that were required by the client for this project. Fieldmans used this experience to brief other operatives on site of these protocols. We pride ourselves on developing lasting relationships with customers and were called back to this project by our client who recognised the quality of work we performed on this site previously.

The scope of works involved in this clean room reinstatement included:

• Survey of existing raised access flooring to highlight areas for repair of cleanroom floor;
• Replacement of all missing safety grilles, including safety netting at low levels;
• Reinstatement of the floor after removal of steel bases and elephants feet by others;
• Repair or replacement of any damaged floor tiles, pedestals, tension rod supports, and any damaged sections of expansion joint;
