Waterproofed Raised Flooring

Certain building environments necessitate the need for a waterproof floor structure but what do you use when you need a waterproof floor structure combined with raised flooring?

Basic raised flooring was fully developed in the 1960s and has been modified and modernised over time to create a better and more useful raised flooring. Raised flooring has become synonymous with data centres in particular – to the extent that one common definition of a data centre is that it is a computing space with raised flooring.

Even in an office environment, water can of course come from a variety of sources including fire sprinkler systems. When the job calls for raised flooring constructed with a waterproof membrane to prevent the ingress of any water into the office space below, Fieldmans use waterproofing products from RIW Limited.

RIW Toughseal is a solvent free polymer modified colour coded coating based on epoxy resins. Typically used to provide a water and water vapour proof barrier in areas that require excellent tensile adhesion, chemical resistance and abrasion resistance such as plant rooms and under raised access floors. RIW Toughseal has a Class 1 fire rating and is UV resistant.
